Someone asked me if I knew where Christmas in July came from or where it originated?
So on to the net I went and found out this information …… “Christmas in July” is a term that originated in Australia. As we all know, the Australian weather pattern is totally the opposite of that in the Northern Hemisphere. When it is summer in Northern Hemisphere, it is winter in Australia. Since Christmas and winter/snow is synonymous, Australians have a Christmas-like celebration in July, and hence the term however they also celebrate Christmas as well. July already where has the year gone?

When you move into a village like ours it’s all a bit daunting, what to do, where to go, and for some, to meet new people, is difficult, so we try to connect and help all of our new people adjust so on Wednesday we had a Morning Tea for all of the new residents, 30 newbies attended along with some of your social club co coordinators.

We all enjoyed finding out about all of the activities and of course that famous “Victoria Sponge” from Currimundi Baker, it was the most enjoyable morning.

I can’t believe we are on the downward slide towards Christmas, dare I say it. We are enjoying truly amazing weather, here at Caloundra Gardens.

The Sunshine Coast beaches are looking their best, and on Bulcock Beach it is so serene and calming looking at our beautiful Sunsets over the Glass House Mountains, especially having some fish and chips and a bottle of wine, on one of the picnic tables, on the beach. What an exciting time to be living at Caloundra Gardens. There is a new energy to the village with new residents settling in putting their mark on homes, with new gardens and renovations to some, also new paint colours to the outside ………

Just love this time of year when everything is in full swing for a new change in the Social Club committee, Melbourne Cup Day and Christmas and New Year functions are all planned, starting last light with a Cocktail Party and cocktails are only $3.00 each, now there is good value. Here we are in September already; the year is going sooo quickly. Our gardens are looking so good as Trev and Scott are busily planting; the village is looking really clean and fresh.
